Dual Robot Packaging System
TAG Solutions developed a robotic packaging system which handles customer parts after they are assembled. This is a system designed to support two pre-existing assembly machines currently operated by the customer. These robot cells will operate independently except during emergency stop conditions.
Our systems utilize vibratory feeding chutes that will be retrofitted to the customers machines to catch and orient finished parts. Parts are selectively allowed access to the chutes based on good/reject status and then picked and packaged by robot. Parts that are bad will be ejected from their upstream assembly machine but not allowed onto the chute due to the top level diverter. This diverter will also deny parts in the event of an Emergency Stop or Safety Stop as to prevent part buildup when the robot is prevented from function.
The robot cells also utalize safety area scanners to detect operators entering the work space and stop the robot operation for operator safety. In the event of an E-stop, robots will immediately stop actions, and all compressed air will be exhausted from the system. Operator intervention and manual reset will be needed in order to start the cells again.
